Asher becomes a fish

It’s Sunday morning and I’m sitting on our lanai drinking my coffee. It’s sunny and warm – soon it will be hot and we’ll head to the beach. Asher and Micah are trying to wake up daddy who is still half-sleeping in the other room. I hear Micah saying “happy day, happy day, good morning!”

We are staying at the Waipouli Beach Resort, just south of Kapa’a on the East side of Kauai. The resort is 10 minutes from the aiport and about 30 minutes from either Poipu or Princeville. This part of Kauai is very convenient. We’re across the street from Safeway, Longs Drugs, Starbucks and Cold Stone Ice Cream, and maybe 10 minutes from Costco.  The resort is beautiful too. There is a huge pool with two waterslides, three hot tubs, a lazy river, waterfalls and a sandy “beach” for little ones to play, all surrounded by lush gardens. It feels like paradise.

The condo we rented is owned by a family who has young children. They have stocked the condo with everything for little ones: high chair, stroller, pack and play, movies, books, games, toys, sippy cups, plastic plates, insulated lunch boxes, beach towels, “doodles”, goggles, floaties, sand toys – even emergency diapers and wipes. The owners have thought of everything to make their guests comfortable.

The last few days, we have spent a lot of time in the pool. Asher loves the water. Micah is not to sure yet, but he is getting his toes wet. Even Zephan is enjoying the pool.

Now it’s time to get ready for the beach!
