More nesting

So we are officially redecorating the nursery. We are selling our crib and changing table from Pottery Barn on craigslist and buying a new modern crib and dresser set.

We are moving all of the firetruck and dog decor into Asher and Micah’s big boy room. We are also moving the honey colored bookcase and red and blue lamps into the boy’s room. We will be painting the boys room a light grey color that should make everything look a little more like a big boy room. The bedding, art, and curtains in the boys room are red, navy, and light blue.

In the nursery, I am going to eventually make new bedding for the crib. We’re going to start with this Modern Zoo Fabric:

I am going to look for some solid, stripe, and polka dot fabric that coordinates. Here are a few I’ve found so far:

Instead of replacing the worn out red chair I bought at a garage sale for $20, we are going to put a round wedge shaped seat in the corner of the room. I will cover the wedge with a slipcover, most likely in a soft brown fabric. We will hang some sort of canopy above the seat and make several pillows to create a child’s reading nook. We are also going to buy a lack bench from ikea to put under the window on wheels for additional storage and seating.

I am not sure what color we will paint the walls – maybe a light blue with one darker accent wall. I am also thinking about making our own art. Obviously, a lot of this will not happen until after I am off bed rest! But it is fun to plan now!
